I am either going to do my obit on Chris Becker or a girl I work with named Michelle. Unfortunately for the next week they will probably be the only people I see.

Coley Wallace was a boxer and an actor in New York City. The obituary did a good job in covering his career as an actor however; I would have liked more information about his career as a boxer.

Q-1: What's the first thing a reporter should do after being assigned a story?

A good reporter will do some research on any story (unless its spot news) before conducting interviews or attending an event.

What are some of the potential problems of using information from news articles you find in commercial databases?

Just because you can access a commercial database doesn’t mean you can quote or use all the material from it. It’s still good to use commercial databases because you can gather background information on you story.
