Mary Michels Obit

I read an obit that I actullay had part in writing for release to the FDL reporter. Mary Michels was my great grandmother died of natural causes at the Rolling Meadows Nursing home in Fond du Lac.
For me this obit was my choice because at the time I was a High School senior and I didn't know much about technique, style or anything. Now as a result of schooling I see where we went wrong. In all my only real issue was with the length of the lists in the obit. A lot of grand kids and great grand kids.

I plan on writing my obit about my mom.

Question from reading

1) Research is the first step to any story that is being written. You must research an individual, firm or any other pertinent info for the story.

2) Potential problems facing writers who use of commercial databses is the reliability of the sources used, chance for plagarism (mostly a concern of editors), and for me PERSONALLY citing it as a source.

This does not fulfill the assignment:

Find an example of a well-written obit that was recently published in a national newspaper (e.g. New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel).

I'll give you until Wednesday to complete this.
