In a case closed October 6, 2004, a Winnebago County court commissioner found two UW-Oshkosh students (liable?/guilty?) after a long and heated dispute with their landlord.
Sarah A. Sobczak and Nicole M. Dimond were ordered to pay a total of $4,172.50 after their landlord, Jeff Wicinsky of Ultimate Properties, LLC, sued them for the unpaid rent fees of their roommate, Jennifer Shimon.

In an effort to reach an agreement, the parties arranged to meet for mediation in September but were unsuccessful in resolving the conflict.

Sobczak and Dimond have recently decided to bring their own case against Shimon, suing for her part of the rent plus damages. They plan on filing a case at the Winnebago Courthouse within the next few weeks.
