I found an article from The New York Times describing Saturday night's Michigan State versus North Carolina basketball game. I thought the author did an excellent job recreating the event. He had quotes from many different players and from both of the teams' coaches. These quotes allowed readers to get an idea of what they were thinking throughout the game.
The author also emphasized important turning points in the game. For example he writes, "Until that point, the Tar Heels had looked like the inferior team athletically. But William's dunk was just an appetizer for the Tar Heel's second-half dominance." This allows the reader to understand where the game started turning around for North Carolina.
I also liked the action words that the author chose to explain the game. He used terms like "burst," "flipping" and "deflated" to try to create a very clear picture for readers. I thought the author was very successful in recreating the atmosphere of the game.
