The author of this story, about the Tar Heels earning a No. 1 seed in the N.C.A.A, used quotes from the coach, players and fans to help build the story. He captured various players' enthusiasm and excitement at having come back in the second half of the recent game against Illinois.
He used colorful words to describe the actual events of the game, including phrases such as "they recieved a wake up call," "they dove for loose balls," "alley-oop," and "hobbled by a hip injury."
Another interesting aspect of the article was the use of positive quotes, from the players of the losing North Carolina team, toward the Illinois team. The author was able to get these defeated players to utter a postitive comment directed at the strenght of the team that had just defeated them- this is a sign of good journalism.
