It read about five sports articles before I finally came across one that I thought was decent enough to write about.
The reason why I picked this article is because, despite the fact that I am not a big NBA fan, this story really caught my interest.
The author did a great job at conveying to the reader how big of an upset Tuesday night's loss against the Suns was for the Lakers.
He did this by talking about the teams former winning streak and used quotes by players and coaches. An example quoted directly from the article " We're going to take our lumps and get back up to the top."--Kobe Bryant
The author also used fresh and concise language in his story that made it really easy to read and understand not to mention more interesting.. Ex. "The quick-hitting, high-energy Phoenix Suns ran, jammed and three-point-bombed their way to a 125-99 victory over Buss' reconstructed team, delivering a virtual knockout blow"
The little facts that the author puts into the article make it really easy for someone like myself, who doesn't know much about the NBA, to understand. An example is how the author mentioned that the Suns have the highest points-per-game average in the NBA. I didn't know that!
I think a lot of times sports articles delve into play by play, and don't thoroughly express the emotion behind the event.
The only thing bad I could say about the article is that the lead kind of confuses me, but that may directly be attributed to the fact that I know diddle-squat about the NAB--well but I do know that the Bucks play in Milwaukee and that shag is extremely tall.
