“I did this to put myself in an extremely unique situation and to show off my Photoshop abilities,” Dan Krueger said explaining his advertisement for his senior art expedition, which portrays about multiple pictures of him in a pit class.
Observation
For 15 minutes I observed the “Spin-to-Win” promotion inside of Reeve Memorial Union. There were three people standing around the game.
The first guy was a student employee of Reeve. He is tall and lanky; he wears glasses and has big teeth. He is between the ages of 22 and 25. He was wearing a red and white plaid shirt and khaki pants. He had a cell phone outside of his pocket. He stood the entire time leaning onto a table.
The second guy was beginning to bald had glasses and was an employee of Reeve. He had an average build with a gut. He was wearing a Reeve shirt and khaki pants. He was in his early or mid 40’s. He stood with his arms crossed the entire time.
The third person was the only female. She was average size with blonde hair and in her mid 40’s. She wore a lot of makeup and had on a blue shirt with black pants. She also stood with her arms crossed.
To participate in the class, a person would first purchase a beverage out of a campus vending machine. If the cap on the beverage had a line on it they could spin a wheel to win prizes. Prizes included a Boom Box, DVD players and free movie rentals from the campus movie store.
The first participant came in the first 2 or 3 minutes I was there she won something. She walked away with a smile. She was blonde and in her late 30’s she had on a white top with a long black skirt.
After she left the two men spoke to each other. The younger male left and than the women and man made small talk. Each appeared bored.
About 5 or 6 minutes into it a short girl with dark hair inquired about the game.
After she left a female named Jamie approached the male and female, she is involved in RUB or RAC. Jamie made some small talk and left.
After about 10 minutes the first participant returned to make small talk and left.
At 15 minutes the second player played and one something and left.
