rough draft-and I mean--rough-by Laura May

Super extreme ROUGH draft.

Edie J. May, loving daughter, wife, and mother passed away May 1, while she was in her sleep. She was 101. Edie was born March 3, 1961 in Oshkosh,Wisc. to Rose (Mathe) and William Schultz. Edie had a huge heart and would lend a helping hand to whoever needed. Growing up in poverty, she helped raise her brother and sisters when her mother was at working three jobs. After graduating from Oshkosh West High School, she went on to work several small jobs around the Fox Cities Area. She was a waitress at the Red Arrow Diner in Winneconne for three years. She then moved back to Oshkosh where she met the love of her life, Soren May. Soren had just moved to the country from Denmark, and bought a shabby farmhouse and turned it into a duplex. Edie moved into the first floor of the building. Being the kind person that she was, she helped Soren out with renovating the house. While the two worked side by side, scraping old tile and knocking down walls, they fell in love. On September 14, 1983 they had their first children, two twin girls named Laura and Chrystal. After having the twins, Edie went on to being employed at Evergreen Manor Retirement Community. She worked there for 10 years, and sighted countless memories of the establishment. She often talked about her friend, Jon, who lived in the community. He spurted wild stories of WWI and taught her lessons in surviving a rough life. She went on to tell Jon’s stories to her children –life lessons that will never die.blah On July 5, 1984 Soren and Edie finally decided to wed. During the garden ceremony, Edie wore a, a simple white dress, a crown of daisies on her head and no shoes-in her words-it couldn’t have been more perfect. On January 29, 1986 the couple had Travis, a nearly 9 pound baby boy who went on to be the mom’s “favorite little stringbean.” As the children grew older, Edie continued to work at Evergreen Manner. Edie decided to raise her children independently and stressed to son, and daughters the importance of being “oneself.” She decided to pursue her passion for hair and style and enrolled in the Martin’s School of Hair Design in 1996. There she made many more life long friends, including Courtney and Beth. After graduation Edie worked at several salons including Cost Cutters, Blades and Shades, and Salon Modacapelli. After five years in the commercial hair cutting business, she decided to retire from her job due to knee surgery on both knees. Several years later, Edie began working brief stints as a hospice caretaker. Edie also cut hair for people who were too poor to go to the salon. To say that Edie touched many lives would be an understatement. When she could, Edie donated her time to helping others, and by the way she lived her life it showed. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Laura (Johhny) Depp, Chrystal (Al) Pacino; son Travis May; and husband Soren. Other survivors include her brother Rick (Ann) Schultz, Bill Schultz and Tina (Randy) Schuhart. She is preceded in death by her father William Schultz, her mother Rose Mathe and nephew Jon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gugdan Buddhist temple of San Fransisco, California. Her service will be at 2 am at South Park Gardens in front of the cool looking light post.
